Accessing AI Content
To learn how to access and visualise Nearmap AI content through MapBrowser, the AI Feature API and AI Offline products, go to the Access AI Content page.
All layers can be ordered as offline deliveries of raster content (GeoTIFF files).

About Nearmap AI
The AI parcel data is available on Nearmap's vertical imagery for Australia and the United States and is available to purchase as separate AI Packs.
Nearmap AI has been pre-processed at full resolution on our full Australian and US vertical imagery coverage. Our Gen 1 content was made available across our Australian and US coverage map as at October 2019. More recent generations are being made progressively available on our full capture program from early 2020 onwards, in addition to select processing on our back catalog. Watch out for product announcements and Map Browser notifications for major changes to AI coverage.

If you select a survey date or geographic region without pre-processed Nearmap AI content, you see a warning icon in the Layers panel, as shown in the screen shot of a New Zealand location below.
Where there is no AI data for the survey date, you also see the warning icon. Refer to What if I see a warning icon? in Viewing AI Layers.
You must first have a base 2D imagery Nearmap product in order to subscribe to AI content. This ensures you can always use AI Layers to preview your area of interest, and also verify our results by following the unique MapBrowser link provided in every single row of the spreadsheet.
Subscriptions are based on AI Parcel Packs. Refer to AI Packs for more information.
Allowance and Usage
You are charged usage for zooming and panning around at zoom level 14 and above, just as you are when viewing 2D imagery without AI. You are not charged additional usage for viewing AI layers, only for the 2D imagery under the layers. For more information see About Data Usage.
You are charged the number of parcels in each export of an AOI:
- even if you have multiple AOIs that overlap
- even if you've exported that AOI before
- each time you hit CONFIRM button on the Export Summary dialog (see Performing the Export).
You can view your Nearmap AI export usage in the account portal.
You can reuse previous exports without being charged by downloading it from the "downloads" section. Refer to How can I download an AI that I've already exported? in AI FAQs.
What can you do with AI data?

What datum are the geopackage data based on? —
All data in the geopackage are based on WGS84 (EPSG:4326).
How do the AI attributes look in MapBrowser split view? —
You can take advantage of split screen when viewing AI layer where there is more than one capture date. Now that we have released Generation 2 AI data for some regions, you will be able to bring both Generation 1 and Generation 2 captures into view on either side of the split screen. As the video below shows, it can be a handy way to perform visual change detection. By swiping the slide back and forth with the background darkened, you see the coloured blobs appear and disappear where change has occurred.
Why do the AI Layers of some objects look more transparent than others? —
The layer transparency relates to the confidence level of the particular attribute.

What is the statistical performance of the AI Parcel data? —
The classification correctness and completeness rate varies for each attribute. Refer to AI Packs for data.
The table below is a summary of the statistical performance for each attribute with a "Y"/"N" flag in the spreadsheet output of an AI Parcel export. These numbers refer to whether at least one object of this type is present in an AI Parcel.
What AI Attributes can you export and view in MapBrowser? —
When you export AI Parcels, the data that you obtain depends on which AI Packs you have purchased. An AI Pack will typically enable one or more AI Layers for viewing, and additional information in the export. Refer to AI Packs for more information.
What's contained in each AI export file? —
Your AI export includes both a parcel rollup and a geopackage. The table below outlines the contents of each content type that is exported.

What size are the AI export files? —
The largest area you can export is an entire region. The largest region we have AI coverage for is New York City.

Can I query other attributes in the AI glossary with AI Feature API? —
No. With AI Feature API you can query any of the data attributes in the AI Packs that you are subscribed to. There are additional AI Layers listed in the glossary which are not included in AI Packs, and are not available behind the AI Feature API.
