Nearmap AI lets you export AI Parcel Data as parcel rollup spreadsheets (CSV) and vector layer (geopackage) from within MapBrowser. To access AI parcel data export, your organisation must have a Nearmap AI subscription and export credits for your subscription. You also need to have Nearmap AI permissions, which your account administrator can grant.

Connection Requirements

For best results, we recommend the following:

  • Internet connection (as a rule of thumb approximately a gigabyte of data per million parcels for the download.)
  • Use a wired connection
  • If you are using a WiFi connection, avoid moving the computer whilst the download is in progress
  • Do not shut down, hibernate, or let the computer sleep during the download.

Exporting AI content

Using MapBrowser you can export (download) both Nearmap AI Content Types: parcel rollup (.csv) and vector layer (.gpkg). Exporting AI data is similar to how you export 3D content.

When you export AI Parcels, the data that you obtain depends on which AI Packs you have purchased. An AI Pack typically enables one or more AI Layers for viewing, and additional information in the export.

The AI Layers viewable in MapBrowser cannot be exported directly. However, they (and a selection of other raster layers) are available via an offline delivery, as described here: AI Offline Products. For the full list of AI Layers beyond what is included in AI Packs, please refer to the AI Layer Glossary.

Contents of an AI export file

Your AI export includes both a parcel rollup and a geopackage. The table below outlines the contents of each content type that is exported.

Parcel rollup (csv)

Vector Layer (shapefile)

Easily accessible spreadsheet with summarised information.Specialist geospatial software required to consume rich information such as the shape of a building footprint.

CSV file with the following columns:

  • Unique parcel identifiers:
    • in Australia: GNAF-PID
    • in the US: Parcel APN
  • Link to address in MapBrowser
  • Centroid of the parcel itself (lat and long)
  • Attribute name and whether it is present (Y) or absent (N)
  • Confidence score for each attribute
  • Survey date

You can then sort and filter by your preferred attribute such as confidence, address, etc. We recommend you to rename the parcel rollup zip file as soon as it's downloaded so you can better distinguish between all the parcel rollups you have downloaded.

VectorLayerGeopackage.zip file containing:

  • .dbf,
  • .prj
  • .shp
  • .shx

Extract individual .gpkg files for each Parcel Data Attribute from the export. Each subsequent export will have the same file name, appended with the next number, e.g. VectorLayerGeopackage(1).zip VectorLayerGeopackage(2).zip, etc.

AI export file size - Examples

The largest area you can export is an entire region. The largest region we have AI coverage for is New York City.
