We have been experiencing issues with elevation profile not displaying in MapBrowser Classic.
The behaviour appears as shown in the screenshot below.
What is causing this issue?
We have determined that this issue is likely related to the changes with the Google API that the classic MapBrowser uses to display the Google elevation profile. Unfortunately at this time we have been unable to identify a good resolution for this issue within MapBrowser Classic.
How can I get elevation profile data?
As the Elevation Profile tool is also available in our new MapBrowser and we are working towards transitioning to the new MapBrowser we have chosen not to investigate this issue further.
We recommend that you access the elevation profile tool within our new MapBrowser.
If you are not familiar with our new MapBrowser you can access it in one of the following ways:
- From within MapBrowser classic, click the silhouette of the person at the top right of the page and press "Go to new MapBrowser".
Click on the line tool, draw your line and with the line selected, check the Elevation Profile box in the right-hand panel.
Note that elevation profile data may not be available for the survey date you are viewing. If that is the case, you'll see a message like the one shown below "Elevation Data Unavailable". Choose a different survey date.
