You can automatically jump to a location in MapBrowser by setting appropriate parameters in the URL itself.

The MapBrowser zoom level will be automatically determined by the size of the region found by the address/coordinates search, unless specified.

Note: You can create a URL to get to a location in Vertical view and Panorama view only,

Address Lookup New MapBrowser

Use the following example to create a URL that returns a map with the provided address, using the latest available imagery for that location. 

https://apps.nearmap.com/maps/#/$200 Goulburn Street, Surry Hills, NSW 2010


Note: commas are not required for an address search.

Address Lookup MapBrowser Classic

Latest Date

Use the following example to create a URL that returns a map with the provided address, using the latest available imagery for that location. 

http://maps.nearmap.com?addr=323 Bayview Street, Hollywell QLD 4216, Australia

  • addr - the full address of the location you want

Specified Date or Earlier

Use the following example to create a URL that returns a map with the provided address, using the most recent capture on or before the specified date:

http://maps.nearmap.com?addr=323 Bayview Street, Hollywell QLD 4216, Australia&nmd=20120415

  • addr - the full address of the location you want
  • nmd - the date of the capture you want in YYYYMMDD format

If you choose a date for which we do not have imagery, you will be shown the most recent date before that for which we do have imagery. Please take care to refer only the date shown after "Showing" on the bottom of the screen to determine when the imagery you see was captured. The date on the timeline will just show what you have requested.

Latitude Longitude Lookup New MapBrowser

Use the following example to create a URL that returns a map with the provided coordinates, using the latest available imagery for that location: 

https://apps.nearmap.com/maps/#/$30.26286,-87.70215

  • The first value is degrees North (for South make this value negative)
  • The second value is degrees East (for West make this value negative)

Note: Nearmap coordinates are entered as Decimal Degrees. If your coordinates are formatted in Degrees, Minutes and Seconds refer to Converting Latitude/Longitude.

Latest Date

Use the following example to create a URL that returns a map with the provided coordinates, using the latest available imagery for that location: 

http://maps.nearmap.com?ll=-27.895405,153.401105

  • ll - the longitude and latitude of the location you want, in decimal coordinates. 
    • The first value is degrees North (for South make this value negative)
    • The second value is degrees East (for West make this value negative)

Specified Zoom, Latest Date

Use the following example to create a URL that returns a map with the provided coordinates, using the latest available imagery for that location, at the specified zoom level:

http://maps.nearmap.com?ll=-27.895405,153.401105&z=19

  • ll - the longitude and latitude of the location you want, in decimal coordinates
    • The first value is degrees North (for South make this value negative)
    • The second value is degrees East (for West make this value negative)
  • z - the zoom level you want. Zoom levels between 15 and 21 are usually appropriate for Nearmap imagery.
  • nmd - the date of the capture you want in YYYYMMDD format

Note that a zoom level of 21 corresponds to 7.4 cm per pixel resolution, 20 to 14.8 cm, 19 to 29.7 cm, and so forth.

URL Formats

Some browsers may not properly handle characters like spaces and commas in the address; in that case, you would need to replace those characters as follows:
