There's a lot you can do to tweak and manage your measurements to make them more useful to your particular use cases, or just to make your life easier.


All the actions described here work on all measurements that you create using our Vertical, Obliqueand 3D measurement tools.

Things you can do to edit and manage your measurements include:



Total measurement

While holding down the Shift key, single-click each measurement you want to add to the total.

You can also group the measurements by right-clicking and selecting Group,
or single-clicking and pressing Ctrl/Cmd + G.

Displayed in the Inspector Panel are:

  • The total area of selected circles and polygons
  • The total perimeter of selected polygons
  • The total line length of selected lines
  • The total circumference of selected circles


Move multiple measurements

  1. While holding down the Shift key, single-click each measurement you want to move as a group.
    You can also group the measurements by right-clicking and selecting Group,
    or single-clicking and pressing Ctrl/Cmd + G.
  2. Drag and drop where you want on the map.

Change a measurement's units

By hitting the cog at the top of the measurements area in the Inspector Panel, you can edit the units of each value individually.


Change measurement's colour

  • The colour of the measurement
  • The brightness of the measurement
  • The opacity of the area of a polygon/circle


Display units on the map

Choose whether to display or hide the measurement labels on the map. These are different depending on whether it's a line, polygon, or circle.

Add notes to a measurement

Enter notes and these will be saved against your measurement. Maximum 400 characters.


Duplicate a measurement

  1. Right-click a measurement.
  2. Select Duplicate from the context menu.

Or select the measurement and press Ctrl/Cmd + D.



Delete a measurement

There are four ways to delete a line, polygon, or circle.



A. Directly from the map:

  1. Click on the measurement. You will see a light border.
  2. Press the delete key on your keypad.

B. Right-click on the map:

  1. Click on the measurement. You will see a light border.
  2. Select Delete from the context menu.

C. From Layer Manager:

  1. Select the measurement in the Feature Layers panel on the left.
  2. Press the delete key on your keypad.

D. From the Inspector Panel:

  1. Click on the measurement. You will see a light border.
  2. Click the Trash icon in the inspector properties panel.
