Importing JPG Files into Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D 2015

These instructions apply to Autodesk® AutoCAD® Plant 3D 2015 and above, and describe how to load JPG files exported from Nearmap. Please note that Plant 3D will not incorporate JGW georeferencing files when doing this, so you will need to manually place the imagery into your drawing and adjust the size appropriately.

In addition to this document, you can view our video on How to import a georeferenced image into Autodesk.

  1. From the Insert menu, click Reference and select Attach.

  2. Select your JPG file of interest when prompted.

  3. Choose the insertion settings you prefer in the Attach Image window.

  4. If you chose to specify the coordinates on-screen in the previous window, you'll be prompted to place and size the imported image.

  5. Your Nearmap image should now be incorporated into the drawing.
